Все про двигатель. This video contains a simple way to bypass the EWS II immobilizer "Elektronische Wegfahrsperr". It allows you to run an earlier Maroon label 413 DME without dealer re-codind. EWS II is found on 95-97 BMWs ----- BMW models built before 1996 carry a silver label 413 DME computer like the one in the video. I read there are some 94 BMW's running around with EWS II as well. You still need your key & transponder to start the car so you still have that safety. Please consult your owners manual when doing repairs. Thanks M.B.S. Смотрите походее видео.

Hi,I have a bmw compact from 2000 with a ews 3D. I had a broken engine so I swapped it with an m44b19 engine with ews 2. Buth offcourse the engine won't start. Does it also works if I take the red label 413 engine en jut cut the wires?

I've google'd on my ECU's number and i've seen it comes pretty close in which type you need. I've got climate and cruise controll, and the part number on my ECU allso states that.

I have a 1997 bmw 328i sedan and Im having trouble firing it up. Could it be the ews module? Could I do the bypass you just demostrated? How do I find the chip?

I have a 99 e36 M3 coupe. I've been considering the OBD1 conversion w/ headers etc. Given expenses, would you recommend going that route or simply swapping for an S54?

heres what ive tried so far. left my key ON position with doors (L/R) and trunk open left for 11 minutes then reconnect for 15 minutes same problem appears. bypassed wires #1 and #3 going to the longer wire (going to DME i think) capped the wires on EWS plug cut little green wire too. then connected wire 1 and 3 in the EWS plug disconnect and capped wires going UP or DME i think didn't work as well. i'm think the problem is my alarm and disables my ignition. trying to find the alarm now

So once i cut the green wire and have the DME out. Coulld i install the chip in the original DME or do i have to get another DME as well ?
davedami # 12 марта 2013 в 13:58 0
If you cut the "green" wire from the ews, can you still use the original DME ?
mybimmer # 24 марта 2013 в 18:51 0
It was bubble gum.... I know, its bad manners
melvinvr # 26 марта 2013 в 15:34 0
"EWS"** sorry about that :D
mybimmer # 27 марта 2013 в 04:49 0
Melvinvr486 ..That is great and I know that feeling when your engine started...take care.
mybimmer # 30 марта 2013 в 21:49 0
Tonyravens, without the chip in your key you will lose EWS starter function and DME function. You can bypass the starter function but not the DME. Basically if you by an EWS delete program it will allow your DME to operate, but you will also have to manually bypass the EWS starter function to engage the starter. I did not show the starter bypass but someone else did. Check out 1947froggy youtube channel, or search "bmw ews II security bypass on 1995 M3"

i have 1998 328i the wire from fuel pump relay to computer its melting just one wire. i went to bmw dealer the said it my be short in cumputer so you think this would work for my bmw. because of that think there no power to the fuel pump so no gasoline pump to the fuel injector .thank you
alonzo # 11 апреля 2013 в 01:32 0

zourkrea # 12 апреля 2013 в 02:46 0
Hi, i just lost my key and i took out one of the key cilinders and a locksmith made me obe that turns but do not start the car, i have a 96 328i 2door, is there a way to bypass the ews without changing the computer chip? Thanks for the info and the video!
jwrape # 14 апреля 2013 в 00:33 0
My 96 M3 engine will spin over a lot before starting. Sometimes just refuses to start. I think the EWS is my issue (I've replaced Fuel P, Fuel Filter and CPS).Just to be clear, if I cut the green wire as in the video, most likely it will start up and run?
chrisdri # 17 апреля 2013 в 02:58 0
What to do if you have a simens DME?

1947frog # 24 апреля 2013 в 14:23 0
Also to be clear on my 7/95 m3 I did NOT cut any little green wire.:)
1947frog # 28 апреля 2013 в 21:01 0
I just bridged it. I'm not an electronics guy, I assume something went south on the ews2 board.THX again you nailed it.:)
mybimmer # 30 апреля 2013 в 09:08 0
To answer your question Mr. Martinez I can't guarantee that cutting the green wire will work on your 1997 328i OBD II BMW.they do share the same system but I haven't personally done the bypass on an OBD II yet so I don't know what the ECU will do without a signal form the EWS. If the bypass doesn't work then you might want to look into a product called the Shark Injector, as far as I know the guy's over at Bimmer World have the ability to remove the EWS from the computer which is a safer bet.
obaro # 4 мая 2013 в 01:49 0
..also could you list the parts needed, what is the part#/name of the chip you swapped from the original EWS? Thanks.
mybimmer # 8 мая 2013 в 08:12 0
sparky, I would move on to a few easy checks first. I still don't know which year and model BMW you have so that would be nice to know. If you look at my BMW e36 fuel pump test & troubleshoot video part 1@17 mins in , I activate the fuel pump by pulling the fuel relay and bridging terminals 30-87. listen for the pump, does it come on? if so try starting the engine while still bridged.. please don't drive around, only for testing! Also terminal 86 should be hot with key on....MyBimmerSpace
mybimmer # 11 мая 2013 в 13:35 0
I meant to say "maybe only half the relay is working" in the last post. Also all this information applies to the 94-95 BMW model year.
mybimmer # 13 мая 2013 в 23:29 0
8976sparky, check your crankshaft position sensor it may be dead. You should see around 560 ohms between the plug terminals coming off the crank sensor. This sensor is mounted on the front of the engine above the harmonic damper. The plug for it is under the front side of the intake manifold just behind the alternator. If you see anything less than 550 to 560 ohms it could incline that its faulty....... MyBimmerSpace
1947frog # 14 мая 2013 в 06:57 0
I tried the ews II bypass (no crank problem) and it worked, no need to touch my dme, thanks.:)
1947frog # 14 мая 2013 в 11:34 0
I should have said a no crank ews problem, not a no start in my first post. I jumped the 1 to 3 pins on the ews plug and now I have got cranking but no start (due to unplugged ews). So I know it's ews problem and don't want to shovel cash to dealer. Now is there a way to go from cranking to running. I believe dme has a Dinan chip that did always work with ews. Thanks if you have an idea.
1947frog # 16 мая 2013 в 19:04 0
HI, I have a 95 m3 built 7/95. Trouble starting intermittant, I believe I traced to ews antenna & wiring. I got a new antenna & installing today. If you do the bypass why do you still need the chipped key & ews antenna in the picture to start the car? Very nice vid btw, do you use a mic, voice is very even throughout. thx
1947frog # 25 мая 2013 в 03:16 0
On my solenoid there are 4 wires, big red 12v, grd, two small wires covered in rubber/plastic to small terminals. Is one of them for ews?95m3 7/95I'm a little chicken to cut those ews wires. A tech told me the ews module does go bad sometimes (especially volt spikes like jump start (which was not my case.)Here's a link to my thread if you have time.

Thanks for that infor, can't wait till I try it on my E36. I will also try it on my E39. Any idea if WAR chip will work on my E36 413DME after bypassing the immobilizer?
bmwdisv5 # 4 июня 2013 в 04:46 0
Hello mybimmerspace,i have 1998 E39, 540i m62 engine with Programmed EWS silver label DME stock.my bmw e39 turns over but does not start up. so i wanna try by-pass this EWS bullshit.is there a DME out there that is non-ews for the e39 that i can buy.Does tunermotersports sell any Non EWS chip, that i can buy to replace the stock EWS chip in my Bosh 0126-204-467 DME.?I NEED your advice to see if it can work on my E39 M62. V8.
mike # 5 июня 2013 в 00:09 0
have a 95' 325i need to replace dme can i use a stock dme pre 95' with no ews chip and stock chip in it and follow your video to bypass ews? this will be a maroon label 413. I can use the stock chip that came in the maroon label dme? thanks mike s.
lukewagn # 5 июня 2013 в 06:21 0
Awesome video. So literally all you did was cut one wire?! I may try that before I swap out all of my things.
mybimmer # 7 июня 2013 в 22:47 0
Your better off buying a chip, the 413 is a bit different considering it has 6 injector drivers and different pinouts. Good luck with your project...Thanks, Mybimmerspace
